Left Handed Panerai Luminor's. Left handed Panerai's look like a mirror image of the Panerai Luminor watches with the crown and clamp on the right side of the watch, and the seconds sub-dial on the 3 o'clock position and the date display at the 9 o'clock position, when applicable.
These left handed Panerai's were not made for lefties, but they are design to be used on the right wrist. The left-handed Panerai's watches were originally designed for Italian Navy divers who would wear a depth gauge or compass on their left wrist, leaving only the right wrist available for a watch.
In the past Panerai has released a left handed model of its classic Luminor Marina, (with seconds sub-dial) the PAM 111, the left handed being the PAM 115, which was released in a limited run of 200 pieces.
A left handed power reserve Luminor Marina, the PAM 123 was released in a limited run of 200 units. A 47mm version left handed Panerai Luminor Marina was released as the PAM 217, which was released in a limited run of 1000 units. The PAM 219 was a left handed base model (time only) Luminor released in a limited run of 500 units. A leff handed submersible was released, the PAM 239, in a limited run of 75 units.
Officine Panerai Luminor Marina Left Handed PAM 00026. The Panerai Luminor Marina Left Handed PAM 26 is a manual wind watch with a similar configuration to the leht-handed PAM 115 Panerai Luminor Marina, a time only watch with a small seconds sub-dail. It was released as a 2008 special edition watch, with a limited production run of 1000 units.
However, unlike the polished stainless finish of the PAM 115, the PAM 26 has a ceramic coating. The coating used is Zirconium Oxide and it is molded from powder using a process of isostatic pressure instead of being cast. This process make it extreme durability, reputedly five times tougher than 316L steel, it also highly resistant to scratches and corrosion.
The watch is powered by the PAN OP II calibre which produces 21,600 vibrations per hour with a 56 hour power reserve. The case is in the typical 44mm Luminor case diameter, and the case is water resistant to 300 meters.
