Another Submariner gets "maxied" The introduction of a new two-tone Rolex Submariner at Baselworld 2009 was no surprise. The stainless steel and 18k yellow gold watch has been given the same changes as those made on the all gold Rolex Submariner's unveiled at Basel 2008.
A new blue of black Cerachrome (Ceramic) Bezel replaces the old aluminum bezel. The dial has been upgraded to the "maxi dial" with fatter hands and larger indices and markers. The case retains its 40mm diameter, but the "super case" wider lugs a slightly larger case. Most welcome is the new clasp which can be adjusted for wear over a diving suit thanks to a double extension system composed of Fliplock extension links and the new Glidelock clasp.
Water resistance is still at 300 meters and the watch is still powered by the tried and tested COSC certified Rolex 3135 automatic winding movement which produces 28,800 vibrations per hour (vph).
