Baselworld 2010: Pre-Basel Rolex Datejust Predictions

Unfinished business. Unlike the release of the new Rolex GMT Master II and Submariner, where all gold models were released in one year, followed by bi-metal on the second year, and stainless steel in the third year, the Rolex Datejust II was released last year with both bi-metal and stainless steel steel models being released simultaneously (although technically even the stainless steel Datejust with fluted bezels are bi-metal since the bezel is made of white gold). We expect to see more options for the Datejust II.

Why? We consider the release of the Datejust II, unfinished business. We do expect to see more dial options and a dome or smooth bezel option down the road. But the big option missing from the Rolex Datejust II is a new larger Jubilee bracelet. Datejust II's have been selling well since their release. A Jubilee bracelet this year will guarantee better sales. We have no inside information, but for Basel 2010 we expect to see a Datejust II with a Jubilee bracelet. There is technical no reason why it cannot be done. It only makes sense to do it.
