Hublot Oceanographic 4000

Deep sea. The Hublot Oceanographic 4000 is Hublot’s first dedicated dive-watch, and an ostentatious first it is.  The Oceanographic 4000 is water resistant to 4000m, which is rated 100m more than Rolex's Sea Dweller DEAPSEA. Even more impressive is that Watchtime reports that Hublot tested the seal to 5000 meters in a Roxer tank. But in fairness, the Oceanographic 4000 is a large watch, coming in a 48mm case, much larger than Rolex's Sea Dweller DEEPSEA.

Inside the case is a mechanical self-winding movement, the HUB1401 which runs at 28,800 beats per second and has a 42 hour power reserve. The date is displayed in a window at the 3 o'clock position.

For deep sea use, watch features a Helium Release Valve, screw down crowns and large amounts of Super-Luminova to ensure good luminosity and readability in the dark conditions. The underside of the hands have also been treated with Super-Luminova for maximum legibility. The watch also features an inner rotating bezel, controlled by a second crown at the 2 o’clock position which, in turn is protected by a titanium crown-guard to keep the bezel locked in the desired position.

In addition, the watch comes equipped with a swift strap-changing mechanism which allows the wearer to swiftly replace straps . An tang buckle makes switching straps even easier.

The watch is a limited edition release, with 1000 built with titanium cases, and 500 with carbon fiber cases.

About Hublot. Hublot is a Swiss enterprise creating luxury watches and founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco. In 2008, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the owners of Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer, Zenith and Dior Montres, purchased Hublot.
