Oris Big Crown Pointer Date - Affordable Swiss Made Luxury

Swiss Made. A watch is considered Swiss Made, according to the laws of Switzerland if its movement is Swiss, the movement is cased up in Switzerland and the manufacturer carries out the final inspection in Switzerland. A watch movement is considered Swiss if the movement has been assembled in Switzerland, the movement has been inspected by the manufacturer in Switzerland and the components of Swiss manufacture account for at least 50 percent of the total value, without taking into account the cost of assembly. These are the criteria for a watch to bear the prestigious Swiss Made inscription on the dial.

If a watch movement is not be cased-up in Switzerland, but it otherwise meets the criteria to be considered a Swiss movement, the watch may say "Swiss Movement" but it may not say Swiss Made on the watch case or dial.

Swiss Made watches are often expensive, there are a fair number of watches which bear the much desired Swiss Made label on the dial which are rather reasonable in price.
