1940. Officine Panerai announced four new watches in its historic collection at SIHH 2013. Essentially, the four new models really leave each buyer with one choice. No exotic ceramic cases or military inspired composite cases, no base models, not California dial option. At first glance the new for 2013 Historic Collection is uninspired. But the four new watches use the, new for 2012, Radiomir 1940 case, which has a sleeker profile and use solid lugs instead of welded wires. For those who were lusting after a PAM00398 or PAM00399, whose production was limited to 100 units each, the new PAM00512 to PAM00515 should satisfy your desires.
Buyers of last years limited edition watches need not fret, the four new models come in configurations which vary from last years model, and the exclusivity of last years watch is preserved.

While there are four new models, essentially, only one will appeal to each buyer. First, you select the one most appropriately sized for your wrist, between the 47 mm and 42 mm models. Those who select the 47 mm model get a watch powered by built by Panerai's P.3000 hand wound movement with a three day power reserve and a date display at the 3 o'clock. You than have to decide whether a stainless steel (PAM 514) or rose gold (PAM 515) model is more to your liking.

Those who select the 42 mm model, get an equally delightful threat with a watch power with the built by Panerai P.999 movement. This movement has a long 60 our power reserve with the absence of a date display resulting in a more classic looking dial. The 42 mm model also comes in stainless steel (PAM 512) and rose gold (PAM 513).
