The Richmont Group has done a good job of harnessing the Officine Panerai brand. Originally, gaining prominence for producing large historically inspire watches, Panerai has evolved into a watch company at the forefront of utilizing exotic materials and in-house designed and built movements.
A few days ago Panerai presented a new in-house movement: the P.5000. The new movement is a hand wound unit with a 8-day power reserve. It beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour.
The P.5000 calibre is being launched in the Officine Panerai Luminor Marina 8 Days, the PAM00510, and a rose gold variant, the PAM00511.
About Panerai. Officine Panerai was founded in 1860 in Florence, Italy by Giovani Panerai. Panerai was acquired over by Swiss watchmaker Richemont S. A. in 1997.
