Regatta. The Omega Seamaster NZL-32 was named after the the Black Magic (Code: NZL 32) of Team New Zealand, the boat that won the 1995 Louis Vitton Cup and the 1995 America’s Cup. The watch was developed in collaboration with Dean Barker, skipper of Team New Zealand. Omega is also the official timekeeper of Team New Zealand.
Omega Seamaster NZL-32 . The Omega Seamaster NZL-32 is designed for the regatta. The watch is a chronograph watch with a special five dot indicator. When the chronograph is started, the dots gradually fill with a different color ─ first blue, then red ─ as each successive five-minute period elapses. One blue circle means one minute has elapsed, five blue circles means five minutes has elapsed, one red circle means six minutes have elapsed and so on. This feature is similar to that found in the Omega Seamaster Apnea we wrote about last week.
The push buttons are on the left at 8 and 10 o’clock, instead of the traditional 2 and 4 o'clock positions.The case has a screw-in back and crown, and has a a rated water resistance to a depth of 150 meters. The watch is available with either a stainless steel bracelet or a black rubber strap.
The watch also has conventional 30-minute and 12-hour timers on sub-dials at the 3 and 12 o'clock positions respectively. Continues seconds is on a sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position. The skeleton hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, and the hands of the chronograph counters are red.

The movement. The Omega Seamaster NZL-32 is powered by a self-winding COSC certified Omega calibre 3602 movement which produces 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a 40-hour power reserve. The Omega 3602 movement is a heavily modified ETA 2892-A2 movement.
