President Obama's watch

U.S. Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, and Richard Nixon, all wore Rolex watches. President Gerald Ford wore a US$2,000 (than a princely sum) Pulsar. President Bill Clinton has been seen with a variety of luxury watches on his wrist, a Cartier, a Audemar's Piguet, and more recently with a Kobold and a Panerai. In contrast, President George W. Bush wore a US$50 Timex given to him by a Timex executive.

What about President Barack Obama? He wears a US$210 watch.

For over a decade, President Obama wore a TAG Heuer watch, until his Secret Service detail gave him a Jorg Gray 6500 Chronograph for his 46th birthday. The Jorg Gray 6500 Chronograph which the was given to President Obama was a watch specially manufactured for the US Secret Service store. The only thing special (at least as far as we know) about the Secret Service Version of the Jorg Gray 6500 Chronograph is has the logo of the United States Secret Service logo on the dial.

Jorg Gray offers the 6500 Chronograph sans the Secret Service logo to the public for US$325. There really is nothing special about the Jorg Gray 6500 quartz chronograph. It is manufactured in China and has a Japanese designed Citizen Miyota movement inside.

All we can say is, the last two US Presidents aren't watch guys.
