Baselworld 2010: OMEGA Ploprof 1200M en blanc

Basel 2009: Return of a classic. At Basel 2009, Omega relaunched the its classic 1971 divers watch, the Ploprof. The Ploprof, with its distinctive case featuring a screwed-in crown located at 9 o’clock under a protective buffer and the imposing 55 mm x 48 mm case size was one of the most interesting watches launched in 2009. For more on this watch you can read our 2009 write-up.

The Ploprof 1200M was made available either with a brushed mesh "Sharkproof" bracelet, which looked similar to the metal divers suits design to resist shark attack, or more conventional rubber straps in a choice of black or orange.

Basel 2010: En blanc. For an encore, Omega give us the Ploprof in white, and the images displayed showed it with a white rubber strap. Exactly who will want this watch in all white, I really have no idea. We would think it might be a ladies watch, but at 55 mm x 48 mm, I do not think it will be a very popular choice among women. While the watch is pictured white rubber bracelet, it is also available with a brushed mesh "Sharkproof" bracelet. If you like it in white, we recommend you get the mesh bracelet.
