Countdown to Basel 2010

BASELWORLD 2010, or Basel 2010 for short it the World's largest Watch and Jewellery Show. Each year some 2000 companies from the watch and jewellery industries, showcase their latest developments and innovations in Basel, Switzerland. Notably, Patek Philippe, Rolex and the Swatch Group launched their new watch models at the Basel exhibit. This year the show starts on March 18, 2010 and runs until March 25, 2010.

The show dates back to 1917 when there was established the first Schweizer Mustermesse Basel which feature watches and jewelry among other things. In 1983 the show changed its name – it was called BASEL, plus two numerals denoting the exhibition year, for example in 1983 it was called BASEL 83. In 1995 the show once again officially changed its name for 'BASEL 95 - The World Watch, Clock and Jewellery Show'.
