SIHH 2011: IWC's New Portofino Line-up


New for 2011. ICW Shaffhausen unveiled four new Portofino watches at SIHH 2011. The first is the Portofino Dual Time (Ref. 3610). This watch features a sub-dial set at the 12-o'clock position which keeps track of the second time zone.


IWC Portofino Dual Time

The Portofino Dual time is a large watch at 45mm, following current trends.  The watch is powered by a manual winding movement with a three day power reserve.

Portofino Hand Wound Eight Days

The second watch unveiled by IWC at SIHH 2011 is the Portofino Hand Wound Eight Days (Ref. 5101). Like the Portofino Dual time, this watch also comes in a 45mm case. As it name states it has a manual winding movement withan eight day power reserved. The remaining power is displayed on the face of the watch.

Portofino Chronograph

IWC also released a new chronograph watch for their Portofino line-up, the Ref. 3910. This is a smaller 42mm watch with a standard chronograph movement with a 44 hour power reserved. Finally you have the Ref. 3565, which is the classic time and date watch with a self-winding movement.

About IWC. IWC or the the "International Watch Co. Schaffhausen" was founded by an American engineer from Boston, Florentine Ariosto Jones, in Schaffhausen, Switzerland in the year 1868. IWC Schaffhausen is notable for being the only major Swiss watch factory located in eastern Switzerland, as the majority of the well-known Swiss watch manufacturers are located in western Switzerland.
