SIHH 2011: Vacheron Constantin's Calendar Watches

Annual and perpetual calendars. Calendar complications our are favorite types of watches. Calendar watches that display the date or the date and month are fairly common. Those that have an intricate mechanism to recognize which unlike typical calendars watches which are programmed for 31-day months, and required corrections after months with 28, 29 or 30 days, the mechanical mechanism of the annual calendar recognizes which months of have 30 and 31 days. This means it requires adjustment just once every year in February since this month has 28 or 29 days.

An even more complicated calendar complication is the perpetual calendar.  The perpetual calendar takes account of the leap-year cycle with its months of 28 or 29 days.
