Bell & Ross BR 01 Horizon

Attitude. The 2012 Bell & Ross flight instrument inspired line-up includes three rather interesting designs the BR-01 Altimeter, Horizon and Turn Coordinator. The BR-01 Turn Coordinator is the most novel of the new designs, closely followed by the Horizon. The Bell & Ross BR 01 Horizon is designed to look like  a attitude indicator. This instrument tells the pilot whether the wings are level and if the aircraft nose is pointing above or below the horizon. This is a primary instrument for instrument flight especially needed in conditions of poor visibility.

Bell & Ross BR 01 Horizon. Has a plain, start minimalist dial. The face has a black hour hand with a white colored pointed at the end. The minute hand runs the entire length of the dial, with the white side of the hand indicating minutes.

The bar located from the center of the dial to the 12 o'clock represents the tail of the aircraft. Ingeniously, the minute and hour hands never completely disappear under the bar, either being either in a windows at the 12 o'clock or visible beside the vertical bar.

The BR 01 Horizon is a fairly large watch with the square PVD finished case being 46 mm wide. The three concentric circles are protected by a sapphire crystal glass. The case is water resistant to 100 meters. The movement which powers this watch is a high end ETA 2892 movement.

The BR 01 Horizon is supplied with a rubber strap. Bell & Ross is only manufacturing a limited run of 999 pieces of this rather interesting watch.

Bell & Ross is a French watch company headed by the French and Swiss designer Bruno Belamich and businessman Carlos A. Rosillo. The brand was launched in 1992. Bell & Ross maintains its own independent production in their facilities La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
