FORTIS B-42 Official Cosmonauts Day/Date Titanium Ref. 658.27.11



FORTIS: Star at Star City. A local dealer has made a new watch brand available locally. The new brand is FORTIS. FORTIS has been in the industry for a long time, producing watches since its foundation in 1912 without interruption. In 1926, FORTIS became actually the world's first manufacturer of automatic. The FORTIS line of watches looks ideal for the Philippine market. Priced a rung below lower cost mechanical OMEGA and Tag Heuer watches, FORTIS automatics are relatively inexpensive.

The FORTIS Cosmonaut models were used by dealer to highlight launch the new brand in the Philippines. In 1994, after endurance tests at the Russian Star City Training Center chose a FORTIS watch as the their Official Cosmonauts' watch. Since then, FORTIS automatic wristwatches have proven their durability and reliability in in numerous missions in out space. In 2004 FORTIA was reconfirmed as the official wristwatch supplier of the Russian Space program.


FORTIS B-42 Official Cosmonauts Day/Date Titanium Ref. 658.27.11. The FORTIS B-42 Official Cosmonauts Day/Date Titanium design is based on divers watches. It has the same unidirectional rotating bezel you find in diver watches used to measure the amount of air they have in their tanks. The FORTIS B-42 Official Cosmonauts Day/Date Titanium comes in a 42 mm diameter Titanium case. The Titanium case is water resistant to 200 meters. 

The dial is matte black and displays the day and date at a windows in the 3-o'clock position. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal glass. On the face of the dial are written the words "Official Cosmonauts Automatic", which does make the watch look special.

Inside the watch is a ETA 2836 movement, which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a 40 hour power reserve.

The watch is presented with one of straps, a sporty rubber strap and a more classic leather strap.
