Fortis Flieger Automatic Ref. 595.11.41

Looking at Fortis collection of watches, which were recently launched here, my attention was invariably drawn to its basic pilots watch. I like the simple, classic look of basic pilots watches. Fortis 40mm Flieger Automatic follows the what now has become the template for a pilots watch: A matte black dial, arabic numerals, a triangle at the 12 o'clock and a date display. It is a fairly rugged watch, with a sapphire crystal glass protecting the dial, and the case being water resistant to up to 200 meters.

The watch is powered by an ETA 2824-2 movement which beats as 28,800 vibrations per hour and features an Incabloc shock absorber. The Fortis Flieger Automatic is presented with a black leather strap.

This is a rather affordable Swiss timepiece, which should set you back just a bit over US$1,000.
