Trying to predict what Patek Philippe will release in any given year is difficult. Being a maker of complication watches, their line-up of watches is rather varied. Even what metal a particular watch will be released in is not standard. Some watches will be released only in one form. Others will be released in white gold and yellow gold, white gold and rose gold, or in all three types of gold, and with the occasional model in platinum.
In Baselworld 2008, we think the most significant release for Patek Philippe was the intricate Ref. 5180/1G skeleton watch with the self-winding movement.

At Baselworld 2009, we think Patek Philippe's most significant releases for that show was the elegant but simple Ref. 5153J officers cased watch or the understated but complex Ref. 5101R with a ten day tourbillon movement.

We do expect to see the Ref. 5153 come out in white gold, and maybe even rose gold. We think it may be the end of the line for the Sector Dial on the Ref. 5296. Beyond that, it is really hard to tell. From a company that can pretty much build anything, predicting what they will do next, is next to impossible.
Anyway, we will find out soon. Basel 2010 is just a week away.
