Oris BC4 Small Second, Pointer Day

The new look. We have already looked at the new case Oris is using for its BC4 series of watches when we took a look at the BC4 Flight Timer. Oris, like the Bell & Ross Instrument, gets its inspiration from an instrument panel.

Oris BC4 Flight Timer. The Oris BC4 Small Second, Pointer Day is a watch with a date and day display. The date is displayed conventionally enough at window located at the 3 o'clock position. What is distinctive about this watch, a design Oris has used in its other watches, is to use a third main to "display" the date. Continuous seconds is displayed by at a sub-dial located at the 9 o'clock position.

The case has a fairly large 42.7mm case diameter with an over sized crown. which is water resistant to 100 meters. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal glass which is domed on both sides and has anti-reflective coating. The case back has a mineral glass display which allows a view of the movement.

The BC4 Small Second, Pointer Day are available in four models, two with a black leather strap and the other two with a steel bracelet.

Movement. The BC4 Flight Timer is power be the Oris 645 movement, which is a modified ETA 2836-2 movement. This movement produces 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a 38 hour power reserve.
